Grand Master Yu’s philosophy is based on emphasizing a sound physical fitness program combined with character-building techniques practiced through martial arts training. A graduate of Oberlin College, Grand Master Yu received his M.A. degree from the University of Michigan. He has been teaching Tae Kwon Do throughout the state of Michigan for over 40 years, and has several studios located throughout the United States.
Master Yu is the founder of the Eurhythmic Method: Mind-Body in Motion. His approach to martial arts instruction is based on the fact that body memory learns faster and remembers better when physical movements are repeated quickly and rhythmically. The purpose of the training is to teach the human body to react automatically in dangerous situations, without the brain having to think about what to do.
